Orthodontic Dentistry

Many people have crowded or crooked teeth. Orthodontic treatment will straighten the teeth or move them into a better position. This can not only improve their appearance but also making them easier to clean.

Orthodontic treatment is generally best carried out in children, but adults can have orthodontic treatment also. Age is less important than having the proper number of teeth. In children it may be necessary to wait for enough teeth to come through before starting treatment.

* Traditional Braces

Traditional metal braces have been the treatment of choice for orthodontic problems. They have been around for years and are the most popular treatment choice as they are affordable while remaining durable.

* Translucent Braces

Translucent braces are very similar to traditional metal braces. Instead of a metal bracket they use a translucent (clear) bracket for a more esthetically pleasing look. Translucent braces are more susceptible to breakage and therefore must be well taken care of .

* Harmony Lingual (inside or hidden) Braces

Hidden braces are very similar to traditional braces, however, they are applied to the backside of the teeth. They are hidden from view so they are an aesthetically pleasing treatment choice, the drawback of lingual braces is that they are often an expensive choice. They are not for everyone since they can be difficult to get used to.

* Damon Brackets

Damon brackets are a type of bracket known as self ligating. With conventional braces, the wires are held in place by ligatures or o-rings that secure them to the brackets. With self ligating braces, part of the bracket itself holds the wire in place without the need for o-rings or steel ties. The bracket is small, smooth and comfortable. The amount of tie it takes to change a wire in the clinic is faster and easier. The wires can continue moving teeth for a few extra weeks between visits so we can eliminate few appointments during your treatment.

* Invisalign

Invisalign straightens your teeth without wires and brackets, using a series of clear, customized, removable appliances called aligners. Its virtually undectable, which means hardly anyone will know that you’re straightening your teeth.
